The day of absurdity kicked off with the Race of Stupidity being cancelled due to inclement weather.  The rain eventually let up enough for people to start drinking, and rally for the 3rd annual pixie repack.  Marginally on schedule, everyone loaded up the truck and trailer and headed to the top of high drive.  The race course went down the north side of high drive, and on down 26th street to Bott park.  The race was kicked off by a large group of unruly teenagers yelling at us as the 7 racers sprinted in a Le Mans start to the bikes.  The usual carnage ensued, with Noah pulling to an early lead while a vicious battle played out for second between virtually everyone else.  Once on the pavement, Jon's excessive mass and pedalling prowess brought him to within spitting distance of the lead, only to be squandered when he forgot that the finish was only won once a ride down the curly slide had been completed.

The conclusion of this race led to the afterparty where everyone stocked up on liquid courage for the 2nd sort of annual chainless lightless race.  Once it got sufficiently dark, we all loaded into the truck and once again headed to the top of high drive.  The course was the same as for Pixie Repack, but the format was changed to include two stages, with a mandatory beer consumed before each stage.  The first stage brought the race to the bottom switchback on High Drive, the second stage took the race the rest of the way to Bott Park.  Noah Bodman pulled out for an early lead in the first stage, chased closely by Eric Ericson.  In the second stage Noah again pulled an early lead, but was passed at the transition to pavement by Eric.  Lee French flatted early on, but continued to ride the rim down because it wasn't his, it was his ex-girlfriend's.  Jon Hurley and Doug Johnson kept it safe in the back of the pack, and Dallas rallied for Third place.
